This series of 4 daoyin/qigong exercises are derived from the Taoist traditions of China’s Hua Mountains. They originally form a part of a complete system aimed at maintaining youth & vitality. Here i’ve selected four movements that I find are excellent for spinal mobility, they cover the vertical, horizontal and figure 8 (multi-dimensional) planes. Aside from the benefits to the spine, you will also notice that they also work on the mobility of others areas of the body; these include shoulder rolls, ankle rotations, opening and closing of the rib cage and wrist mobility etc.
