Today it’s about bitter herbs, which bitter herbs are mentioned in Scripture? Which bitter herbs can we get into our diet today and why? And not only that these seven bitter herbs have such health promoting abilities, you’re gonna say, how come I didn’t know this before?

So, let’s get started on understanding these seven herbs. And I also am going to want you to start growing these herbs in your own yard. That’s part of the plan. And that’s part of my teaching just to get you to start growing them.

So let’s get started understanding the seven herbs. Let me just tell you weight loss, digestion, heart health, inflammation… Gone. I mean, you need these herbs in your diet. Okay, let’s get started.

1. Parsley

Let’s start with parsley. So it was used in celebration of our Lord’s feast. In fact, the first celebration in spring is Passover. So parsley is used most often besides horseradish.

It is then dipped in salt water to represent the tears of the Israelites because of the suffering that they endured as slaves in Egypt. Now parsley can easily be steeped into a tea and it’s perfect for a morning pick me up or mid afternoon cleanse. It’s also the best first bite of any meal as it helps to release the digestive juices and start the process of enzymes.

2. Endive

Endive is also good for your skin and the mucous membranes now your skin and the mucous membranes, that’s your first line of defense for your entire body. So add endive to all of your salads. Try to experiment with this fresh lettuce pretty much three times this week and see how you like it. I would use it as a scoop, I would actually put it on a tray, alternate the red and the yellow leaves and fill him with some hummus or some other type of a dip. And then maybe sprinkle some paprika on top and you’d have just a gorgeous tray assortment for an appetizer, but definitely just slicing it up and put it on your salad works as well.

3. Horseradish

And the third one of our first three that we use in Passover is horseradish. Horseradish is perfect for stimulating the circulatory system. It’s also good for those who have a urinary tract infection or respiratory tract infection.

4. Chamomile

Chamomile blossoms contain essential oils, which is going to help us with anti-inflammatory properties. Many people are familiar with kameel tea because it calms the body and helps you to relax, great to have an evening.

5. Lemon Balm

Lemon balm is delicious to just nibble on but adding it into your cooking, you can put it in cookies cakes, you can put it in your tea, you can put it in your salad balm relieves spasms to the digestive tract.

So if you have people or children even that are having trouble eating, just go ahead and give them a leaf of this before they start their meal and have them chew it up.

6. Peppermint

Our next herb is peppermint, believe it or not, yes, it’s considered a bitter herb, and it is inflammatory, and it has germ-killing properties. It helps to improve the bile flow. It helps to relieve cramps and also helps to relieve pain.

7. Hyssop

It’s good for cough, bronchitis, colds, it’s helpful for those with anxiety, hysteria, and even some forms of epilepsy. So we definitely want to add some hyssop into our garden, start growing that today and enjoying that for the health benefits.
