Wrist and forearm conditioning exercises for xingyiquan and other martial arts. Get better weapon handling and better radial alignment for pushups and punching by doing these simple exercises on an often neglected muscle group.

– Focus on going slow with gravity and fast against gravity
– Complete 3-5 sets of 8-12 repetitions for each exercise
– Increase the resistance by moving the hand closer to the proximal end of the staff/pole or by gripping tighter with one hand on wrist rolls
– Stand in ‘santi’ or split stance to remove stress from lower back
– Repeat on both sides for symmetry
