Brief Biographies of the guests:
Raphael Smith, who also goes by Ralph, is a 5th generation Song style Xingyi Quan practitioner under Li Yujie. He also studied Chen style Taiji Quan through a Korean lineage which came from Hong Junsheng’s practice of the art, as well as other arts such as Chinese Shuai Jiao and sports combat related practices. He is a cofounder his school, named Jing Wu Pai, He resides in Sacramento in the United States where he is now teaching, promoting and developing the arts there.

Jon Nicklin currently resides in Beijing. Originally hailing from London, Jon moved to Shanghai where he started studying Song style Xingyi Quan under Dai Xueqi. He has delved deep into the art and has traveled in China to various places, including Tai Gu to research and study Xingyi Quan as well as other arts.
“In discussion with” features video interviews and discussions with various guests who are experienced in differing topics related to the martial arts. In these, the public has the opportunity to submit questions for the guests to answer and discuss. Mushin Martial Culture Patreon supporters will have preference with regards to their questions submitted.
