Backstory:
The monks knew Aang was The Avatar because as a baby he chose the four Avatar Relics out of thousands of toys presented to him. Earthbending is based on Hung Ga Kung Fu. Firebending is based on Northern Shaolin style Kung Fu. Airbending is based in Baguazhang, a Chinese form of martial arts. Waterbending is based on Tai Chi.
