PATIENT PRESENTATION
A 50-year-old female presented with complete loss of arm mobility. The acute condition resulted from overextension of the right elbow, arm, and shoulder while the patient was removing a suitcase from an airplane overhead bin. She was unable to lift her arm at all.
SYMPTOMS
Pain and immobility from the right elbow to shoulder aligned with Hand Tai Yin Lung and Hand Tai Yang Small Intestine meridians.
TREATMENT COURSE
Two 45-minute treatments, over 2 days
ACUPUNCTURE 1, 2, 3
Treatment 1:
A1: Hand Tai Yin Lung, Hand Yang Ming, and Hand Tai Yang Small Intestine
A2: Hand Shao Yin Heart, Yang Ming Large Intestine
A3: San Jian, Large Intestine 5, Large Intestine 11x 3 Heart 3 to 1.5 x 5
INITIAL RESULTS
During the first visit, the pain was reduced dramatically. By the end of the 45-minute session, arm’s range of motion increased to 135 degrees.
