The best time to practice this sunrise meditation is the early am morning sun , facing the East, where the eye can withstand the sun’s ray. However if the sun strong later you close your eyes to prevent UV damage to your eyes.
I first learnt technique from the Indian Yogic , through Kudalini Yoga ,called Tratak around 2011, and used to practice at the seaside at Pasir Ris , At that time my digital camera can capture it a broad beam of purple light .
In 2017 ,after our First Dao Yin Shu Initiation in Genting,Malaysia , we taught the basic of Dai Yang Shen Gong, from Tai Shan Men Xiao Yao Pai ,Taoist Spritual which is more in depth.
Again at higher level we incorporate secret mantras, breathing techniques , so the Sun ‘s enegry can be captured ,accumalated and use for self healing.
