Martial arts are a combination of self-defense techniques. It is a system that can help a person to defend themselves. Martial arts teaches an individual how to protect themself from violent attackers. To defend against violent attackers we should practice and learn a variety of martial arts training methods.
A brief video that shows some of the Internal Martial Arts training methods of Wu Xing Dao Kung Fu, that we practice at our school in Wyoming on the Central Coast. A fantastic Martial Arts system for practical self-defense, and as well for improving health and well-being. We practice five different Internal Martial Arts styles, which include Mian Quan, Tai Chi, Baguazhang, Meihuaquan, and Xing Yi.
For those who are not familiar with Internal Martial Arts known as Neijing, it refers to Chinese arts that focus on spiritual and mental cultivation as well as the development of internal energy, as opposed to external martial arts that emphasise physical strength, such as Karate. Our thoughts create our reality and our thoughts are nothing but energy. Our thoughts manifest our internal energy in martial arts, which is referred to as Qi (Chi). Internal Martial Arts emphasise the use of this energy to generate power for self defence purposes.
Taijiquan and Qigong make it possible for an individual to influence their lives in a positive way and create their own reality. That means for those who seek to lead a long and healthy life, they should practice martial arts regularly. Cultivating life energy through the practice of internal martial arts offers an alternative to modern stem cell research and genetic engineering.
